The Choir of Somerville College performs Fauré's choral masterpiece as well as a selection of anthems by Balfour Gardiner, Wood and Leighton.

The Somerville Choir Octet will be singing Palestrina's Missa Brevis in Songs divide the night, an early music concert organised by Somerville Music Society as part of this year's Arts Week. The concert will be followed by a social in Vaughan SCR, with free wine and soft drinks.

Since Somerville Chapel is still unavailable due to the ongoing asbestos removal work, the concert will take place at St. Giles' Church (right across the road from Somerville's main entrance). The programme includes choral works by Tippett, Górecki, Ireland, Miškinis and Monteverdi as well as a number of songs and arias/duets performed by members of the choir. The choir and the soloists will be accompanied by Douglas Knight (organ), Robert Pecksmith (organ) and Orly Watson (piano).
