The choir will be conducted by David Crown. Robert Pecksmith and Douglas Knight will be playing the organ, and the solo parts will be sung by Kate Piddington (soprano), Tal Katsir (soprano) and Stephen O'Driscoll (baritone).
Today at 5pm the Choir of Somerville College, Oxford, will sing evensong at St. Paul's Cathedral to mark the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth's accession to the throne. The service includes anthems that were written for her wedding and coronation, concluding with a rendition of the National Anthem. The Accession Day service forms part of the celebrations for the Diamond Jubilee.

Since New College Choir will be touring Cyprus next week, the Choir of Somerville College has been invited to sing a service of Choral Evensong at New College Chapel on Friday. Thomas Tallis: If ye love me (Introit) James Turle: Psalm 136 William Smith: Responses Charles Villiers Stanford: Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in C, op. 115 Andrew Lloyd Webber: Pie Jesu (Requiem) Friday 28 October 2011, 6:15pm, New College Chapel The choir will be conducted by David Crown and accompanied by organ scholars Douglas Knight and Robert Pecksmith. The solo parts in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Requiem will be taken by Tal Katsir (soprano) and Amelia Walsh (soprano). Click here to see the Facebook event page. Next week the Choir of Somerville College will be singing a service of Choral Evensong at Winchester Cathedral. The programme for the service includes music written or arranged by three Somervillian composers: David Crown's Preces/Responses, an arrangement of Tomkins' Magnificat by Francis Knights (former Director of Chapel Music) and a setting of the Nunc Dimittis written by music student David Hughes.
